Treat Souls as progression fuel. Compare them against skill tree needs, unit upgrades, and the next boss route before spending.
Shards
Save Shards for choices that improve repeat runs, especially when Update 1 events or new units change the best value path.
Spending order
Check rewards before spending
Codes, Gold Rush, Shard Storm, Cursed Moon, and the Unit Index can change the best currency route after an update.
Before a farming run
Redeem active codes first, then compare the next upgrade against your current minion setup. If the next boss route is unstable, hold rare currency until you know which unit or mutation improves the run.
After an event starts
Re-check the update page before spending because limited events can temporarily make Shards, Souls, or unit pulls more valuable than normal farming.
